3 package yeast
½ cup potato water
½ cup shorting
2 eggs
1 cup mashed potatoes
1 cup can milk
6 to 8 cups flour (6 or a little more)
1 ½ teaspoon salt
2/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla
Cook potatoes, cool ½ cup potato water tell lukewarm and add yeast stir tell dissolved. Cream shorting, sugar, vanilla, and salt (in mixture) add yeast and beat to this mixture add potato water, can milk and mashed potatoes gradually, add sifted flour and knead. Let rise until doubled in bulk – mix down and roll ½ inch thick, cut with donut cutter, let rise 15 min, fry in deep fat at 350o for 3 or 4 min tell light brown on sides. Glaze while hot.
Glaze (Double)
2 package powder sugar
1 cup + 3 Tablespoon boiling water
2 teaspoon Vanilla
Beat with egg beater.
